Windows Movie Maker is okay if you don't need major effects. Early Avatar Abridged (GanXingba) was made with that. I was surprised to hear that in his commentary for episode 1. What's bad about it in the end, is if you want the better effects, it actually costs a crapload. Seriously, check Google for Windows Movie Maker Plugins and you'll sh** your pants at how much it costs to upgrade a free video editor.
